VILLAGE CENTERS

Kids in the age group of 3 to 6 are naturally eager for knowledge and making them learn in a thoughtfully prepared environment makes the whole concept of learning a joyful process at Vidyarambam. In their early childhood, Vidyarambam children learn through sensory - motor activities and work with various specially designed materials that develop their cognitive powers. The curriculum incorporates learning numbers and language using play way methods in a regular school environment.

Class 2 and Class 3 students of rural schools are enrolled here and the teachers match appropriate lessons from the school curriculum with the Vidyarambam material whereby learning become more practical and is naturally absorbed and internalized. Children learn the basic concepts of Mathematics and they are also trained to read fluently in Tamil and English. The Phonetic method to learn English words help the children to learn the language in a simpler way.

Support class senior comprises of class 4 and class 5 students. Here too, the school curriculum is integrated with Vidyarambam materials and children acquire different concepts of Mathematics through hands-on learning which is more practical and application oriented. Children work individually and in groups which leads to a deeper understanding of language, Mathematics, Science, Music and much more. Children learn the basic concepts of English Grammar using different materials that make the learning more effective and enjoyable.

A library is set up in each village having a learning centre, to cater children’s story books and novels to people in the village. Anybody from the village could access the books for free.
